Acquisition of the site of Nymphs’ Quarry
The fundraising campaign in 2024 allowed the AMKE (Ancient Quarries Non-profit Organisation) to exchange contracts for the acquisition of the site which contains the entrances to the Nymphs’ Quarry.
The extent of the site is 45,000 m2 and contains the two entrances to the Nymphs’ Quarry as well as the two historic buildings known as “winch stations”.
Based on this agreement the AMKE obtained the right of possession and use of the property and therefore interventions and improvements can now take place.
With the resolution of the ownership issue of the forested part of the site, the full acquisition can proceed and the Municipality of Paros has already included in its budget the balance of the purchase price.
Implementing body: AMKE (Ancient Quarries Non-profit Organisation)
Cost: € 20,000 (part of purchase price plus forestry certificates and notarial costs)
Funding: AMKE (Ancient Quarries Non-profit Organisation)
Implementation period: 2024-2025
