Join as a Friend or a Member
All those supporting our aims are welcome to join our organisation as “Friends” or “Members”.
“Friends” are those with a keen interest in the protection and promotion of the ancient quarries, who support the activities of the non-profit organisation “Paros Ancient Marble Quarries Park AMKE” with their enthusiasm, their participation in events and with optional financial contributions. “Members” additionally participate in AMKE activities and contribute with their knowledge, and may assume specific responsibilities. “Members” undertake to make an annual contribution of 30 euros.
Plan a Visit
Access to the archaeological area of the Ancient Marble Quarries in Marathi is unrestricted. Visitors are reminded that the site is in private ownership and they should not cause any interference or damage. The area contains the entrances to the ancient underground quarries of Nymphs and Pan. Entry into Nymphs’ quarry is not allowed for safety reasons. Entry into Pan’s quarry is not recommended unless an authorised guide accompanies the visitors.
Organised group visits
The non-profit organisation “Paros Ancient Marble Quarries Park” and local associations organise guided visits.
Private visits
Visitors may arrange customised visits with an authorised guide. The guides regularly covering the archaeological area of the Ancient Marble Quarries can be contacted by filling in the form below.
The tour lasts about 2 hours, preferably in the morning or afternoon, is on foot and is of little to moderate difficulty. A hat, sunscreen, water and comfortable shoes are helpful as on any tour.
The non-profit organisation “Paros Ancient Marble Quarries Park” is not responsible for the financial or any other aspects agreed upon between visitors and guides.
