The non-profit organisation “Paros Ancient Marble Quarries Park, AMKE” will hold its General Assembly on Friday on 6 June 2025 at 19:00, in the courtyard of the former Primary School in Marathi.
This General Assembly is convened to mark the completion of three years of operation of the AMKE, and includes a presentation of the AMKE’s work and a discussion on future planning of its actions. It is very important because the AMKE has recently acquired rights to use and exploit a significant area of the archaeological site and is promoting the necessary stability measures of historic buildings and underground galleries, as well as improvements to the areas outside the underground quarries.
The Agenda of the Assembly includes:
- Report on previous year’s activities
- Financial report on previous year
- Planning of next year’s activities
- Discussion – Suggestions from members and friends
The event is open to all local organisations, residents and friends of Paros and includes the opening of a permanent photography exhibition on the theme of the ancient quarries, as well as refreshments and treats.
